SDG 2 — Zero Hunger

Hunger is never just about food. It’s about access, affordability, dignity, health, local resilience, and the systems that decide who eats well and who goes without. This SDG 2: Zero Hunger page on SDG.VISION shares films and stories of real people taking practical action — from emergency food support to long-term solutions like community growing, fair supply chains, school food programmes, and sustainable farming.

If you’re doing something that helps people eat well — or helps a community produce and share food more fairly — your story belongs here.

What you’ll find on this SDG 2 page

  • Short films showing food support with dignity (not stigma)

  • Youth-led food actions from schools, colleges, and clubs

  • Community initiatives tackling food insecurity and nutrition

  • Projects strengthening local food systems and sustainable growing

  • Stories connecting food to health, livelihoods, climate, and equality

Share your SDG 2: Zero Hunger film on SDG.VISION

We welcome films about any action that reduces hunger, improves nutrition, or strengthens local food security — whether it’s a neighbourhood effort, a school project, a farm innovation, a charity programme, or a business improving access.

What you can submit

  • Youth Action films:

    • Under 1 minute (ideal for social media)

    • Up to 3 minutes (a fuller story)

  • Longer films are welcome too — we’ll feature them on SDG.VISION and link them clearly to SDG 2 content.

Topics we love (SDG 2)

  • Food banks, community fridges, mutual aid food support

  • Community gardens, allotments, urban growing, edible landscapes

  • Food co-ops, affordable fresh produce, “pay what you can” models

  • Reducing food waste (redistribution, gleaning, surplus kitchens)

  • Fair supply chains and decent livelihoods for food producers

Why share your Zero Hunger story?

Because solutions spread faster when people can see them. A short film can:

  • inspire someone to start a similar project

  • attract volunteers, donors, partners, or local support

  • help decision-makers understand what actually works

  • celebrate communities taking action with dignity and care
